The weekend…

by Bryan Comer

Another weekend filled with family fun and activities…here’s the highlights.

Jack started Football this weekend. He’s the big guy, and one of the oldest on the team. It seems to be a good fit so far. He is listening really well and staying focused.

I shaved and bathed our deaf dog…well, at least gave her a trim. She loves me today.

We had dinner with Jamie Saturday night, Tony’s namesake. It’s always fun to eat shrimp and chat at our favorite Cajun place. Sarah’s mom is in Germany, working. We missed her.

It’s tax free weekend and we went to Babies R Us and registered. I really think doing it at Target first helped Sarah not be overwhelmed. Their were some angry people there though, and they seemed to follow us. “…cause I love my children” was all we really got from the anger. We registered for 51 items…more to come once we figure out the bottle system to us. With Jack we used Avent, but I believe someone is giving us an electronic pump, so we will probably match that system when we know what it is.

Then to Target…did I mention it was tax free weekend. Target was crazy…and we didn’t but a damn thing that fell under the tax free umbrella.

Sarah is half sleeping next to me on the couch with head phones on her belly. Norah Jones is playing through them…I think Tony is a fan. I feel like one of those yuppies I hated in the 80’s. Setting on the couch, on my laptop, with I-Tunes rocking the Norah, with Sarah hooked to the headphones. She’s giggling every once in a while, so I guess it’s all good. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Tonight, “Black Snake Moan”…or a nap…like Shelby…our other deaf animal. She like’s her nap.

About Sympathy Pain

The "Sympathy Pain" blog is a father's view of what is generally viewed as "woman only" territory, pregnancy. The blog also looks into the blended family and how a new addition affects that family. "Sympathy Pain" is not a battle of the sexes sight, but rather, an open forum for moms and dads.
