Finally

It was one of those nights. I had starting taking my sinus medicine again to try to cut down on the snoring. We both began reading in bed and she drifted off before I was done. I felt like I wouldn’t be very silent or still so I moved to the guest bedroom.

I heard her getting ready around 6:30. I started going through my day in my head. I drifted in and out for the following hour until my alarm went off. I heard my text message tone go off.

“I didn’t want to wake you. I love you.” It always makes me smile.

I shower and start getting ready and the cell phone rings.

“Sarah work” the id says…Odd, she must have forgotten to drop the rent check in the mail.

“Hey honey” I say

“Your child just kicked me”
