Anniversary 08

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Fall is here…you can’t tell by the temps, but the calendar says so. That must mean our Anniversary is here as well. Oct 14th to be exact. We is broke, y’all, so we decided to have a “Staycation” here in Huntsville AL. Sarah and I took Monday and Tuesday off, to give us a long weekend. It was glorious. Last year I started the tradition…unbeknownst to me…of photographing our day. So here it is. You better sit down…

Tony woke Sarah up around 4:00 am…um…I don’t have a pic of that.

I got up at 7:00 and loaded the boy up for school. He is a very happy baby…and a new addition from last year’s photos.

I took him to Pre-school. This will be his last week there. He’ll be moving to the YMCA next week…saving us $80 a week..and getting him fed!

I ran by the store to get a card and sausage for breakfast…then I remembered we had sausage at the house.

Made Pancakes and the before mentions sausage.

We exchanged gifts and cards.

We went to the Y for some exercising and swimming…and a little time in the hot tub.

Nap…and such…

Had to do alittle work.

Sarah waited…and was hungry.

Ran by to get a picnic lunch from our old picnic staple. We went old school.

Picnic lunch at the park. Beautiful day.

Excitement at the park. We saw some cops “flirting” with a couple young ladies…but they were really laying in wait for this kid and pounced!

We went to the bench were I asked her to be mine forever.

A view from said bench.

We picked up the baby and had some after school fun.

I went to Jack’s Football playoff game. They won 26-0.

Back at the house, Sarah was waiting, and we watched The Biggest Loser.

Sleepy Time…

Photo Book Update

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

I have hated having all these wonderful pictures of my family and no easy way to share them. I missed the photo albums I grew up with, and now have found an easy and relatively inexpensive way to make some.

home_open_bot_left.jpgI tried another book publishing company and love it…not that I had problems with the last try, this just has more options. My Publisher offers a down loadable program that has different styles of book templates. I chose the “Baby Boy” template and I was off. I loaded pictures I had of Tony and the Family. I was able to choose page layouts and add captions easily. It will also set up the book for you, if you don’t care what order the pictures go in. It took about 10 days from the time I uploaded and ordered the book until it was on my door step. It’s an awesome chance to get those pics off your computer and into a traditional photo book.

products_cla.jpgAnd, now, on their home page, you can buy one get one free. I made one for my folks, and the other will go to my sister. And, since the book is saved on my computer, I can easily make one for Tony’s other grandparents(It’s in the works, Mama Brown).

We did find out last night that the resolution needs to be pretty high on your photos. So if you are in the habit of using a lower resolution to save disc space on the camera, you may want to use the higher setting when you are taking pics for publishing.

The book looks awesome. I think this is a great idea, especially with mother’s day coming up…or just as a nice coffee table book.

Photos…in the digital world

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

1474.gifI love my digital camera. I use it for work, at home, wherever. I have one on my cell phone. They are really handy. I can take over one hundred shots on my camera before I have to dump them somewhere. It’s awesome.

So I have hundreds of pictures…on my computer…which isn’t very handy to carry to the family reunions and such. It’s a little awkward to have at the water cooler, too. So how to share these wonderful moments of life becomes a question. (more…)
